Job Description
Are you a qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic looking to take the next step in your career?
Newhaul is offering a unique pathway to upgrade your trade to a Heavy Diesel Mechanic Certificate through our Kickstart Training Academy while getting paid and gaining hands-on experience.
Based at our brand new state-of-the-art Geraldton workshop, you’ll be working on a fleet of Mack & Volvo heavy multi-combination trucks, playing a key role in keeping our fleet running at its best.
What You’ll Be Doing
No two days are the same, but you can expect to:
- Carry out engine and truck rebuilds
- Service and maintain vehicles to OEM and statutory standards
- Diagnose faults safely and efficiently
- Manage work orders and repair requests from drivers & the workshop team
- Complete accurate workshop records, reports, and system entries

About You
We’re looking for motivated tradespeople who are serious about their careers and want to move into Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanics.
You’ll bring:
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology
- Valid C Class Driver’s Licence (minimum)
- Ability to provide a Statement of Attainment or USI transcript
- Commitment to attending TAFE and completing training requirements
- Strong teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills
- (Highly regarded) Previous exposure to heavy machinery or diesel equipment
- Residency in the Geraldton area
