About the position
We're looking for a skilled Loader Operator to play a vital role in our Engineering Construction team. In this hands-on position, you'll be responsible for transporting essential materials to and from worksites while upholding the highest standards of safety, precision, and compliance.
What You'll Do:
- Ensure timely and secure transport of materials across City worksites, following all operational guidelines and policies
- Perform precision measurements and interpret single-dimensional plans to support quality control and project accuracy
- Operate City vehicles, plant, and equipment with professionalism, meeting all legal and safety requirements—including proper loading procedures
- Identify and locate underground services to prevent conflicts and ensure smooth project execution
- Report maintenance needs for vehicles and equipment to the Supervisor of Engineering Construction, helping us maintain top-tier operational standards
What we are looking for
Applicants should be able to demonstrate:
- Substantial experience operating a front-end loader in a similar environment delivering quality and desirable service levels in the context of the position requirements.
- Demonstrate an ability to contribute and apply analytical and problem-solving skills in matters relating to road construction.
- Proven ability to prioritise and monitor personal workload with minimal supervision to achieve agreed outcomes within specified timeframes.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member, exercising initiative and judgement whilst working with minimal supervision.
Essential requirements
- Current MR class driver's licence
- White Card
- Loader Operators ticket
- Current National Police Clearance (less than three months old) Please note: This is not essential to apply for the role but may be required at a later stage as it is an appointment condition.
