Locomotive Driver

Location: Rockhampton

Aurizon is currently seeking to fill two Locomotive Driver positions in the Central Queensland team in both Mackay and Rockhampton. About the role:

• Working with the Network IML Project team
• Operation of locomotives including mainline, shunting, and marshalling
• Examine and certify trains as ready for departure
• Work in accordance with Aurizon's safety and operational standards and procedures
• Maintain a high level of on-time running
• Prepare and conduct brake testing on locomotives
• Provide high quality customer service to enable Aurizon to meet its set business objectives

About you:

• Must be available to work 24/7 shift roster.
• Must be available to travel away from home for a period of up to 10 days for project works across the CQCN.
• Experience in QLD Safeworking System and CQCN Route knowledge is advantageous but not essential.
• Extensive freight and/or heavy haulage locomotive driving experience.
• A Certificate IV in Rail Operations.
• Able to work autonomously and adapt to part of a larger team across different business areas.
• Current unrestricted Class C drivers licence.
