Lake Lucas Almonds Pty Ltd is a dedicated grower and producer of high-quality almonds based in Meilman East, Euston, NSW 2737. Lake Lucas Almonds Pty Ltd is seeking a full-time qualified Machinery Manager who is committed to working in regional New South Wales on a long-term basis.
The salary offered is $76,515 per annum plus superannuation.
The Machinery Manager will be responsible for the following tasks:
· Manage packaging lines on a day-to-day basis, under the direction of the packaging shed management team.
· Manage the packing line via an effective and proactive supervisory presence to achieve maximum efficiency.
· Liaise with the quality control officer on a day to day basis to ensure the correct quality standards are met.
· Have full knowledge of all the protocols that must be met for domestic and export fruit, and check the packing instructions, labelling (cartons, crates, and pallets) and traceability systems match the requirements for those markets.
· Liaise with the designated chemical supervisor to ensure that effective and timely monitoring and management of all line functions are carried out in a timely manner.
· Perform pack house staff training as requested by management.
· Assist in the management of all packing lines as required by shed management.
· Have a full understanding of the traceability system.
· Ensure the fruit label applicators are functioning to their full potential and general maintenance when required.
· Follow Occupational Health & Safety policies and procedures and help ensure all packing shed staff complies with occupational health and safety, and quality assurance requirements.
· Report repairs and maintenance requirements promptly to the maintenance supervisor.
· Other duties as agreed in consultation with management.
Required qualifications and/or experience:
- A relevant AQF Diploma or equivalent; OR
At least 3 years of relevant experience.
Ideal background and skills:
- Previous work experience as a Machinery Manager/Supervisor, Farm Mechanic or Farm Equipment Maintenance Supervisor within the Agriculture/Horticulture industry is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge and experience of agricultural production principles.
- Possess advanced knowledge and experience in farming machinery maintenance.
- Ability to supervise and manage a team to maintain a high standard of work practices.
