Our Finance Capability team are trusted advisors to CFOs and their Finance teams supporting them to meet the challenges of a complex and rapidly evolving business environment. The role we specifically require is within the Finance Transformation service offering. Finance Transformation is a strategic restructuring of organisation’s finance operating model including systems, processes, and operations, aimed at increasing efficiency, enhancing decision-making, and aligning financial functions with broader business objectives using digital technologies and other improvements.
Your New Role
With continued growth and strong pipeline, we are now seeking a Manager to join our team in Melbourne, with a focus to supporting Finance Transformation engagements.
You will work with some of the country’s leading clients as well as the wider national team, in a positive, collaborative and team focused environment. This role is ideally suited to candidates who have prior finance transformation experience as well as experience managing cross-functional teams ideally in a Consulting environment or in a transformation capacity, and who are seeking an opportunity to broaden their experience working with different clients, as well as undertaking challenging and rewarding work harnessing their leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills.
How Are You Extraordinary
Functional Operating Model Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of core finance processes
- Understanding of leading practice across the finance operating model (e.g. in relation to processes and controls, systems, service delivery model) and ability to support target operating model design and implementation
- Financial and management reporting experience to support reporting strategy
Technological Proficiency
- Understanding of how a system implementation project is delivered (e.g. phases, core teams, standard deliverables)
- Previous ERP / EPM / Cloud technology experience through previous engagements or industry experience
- Ability to guide Enterprise Structure and Chart of Accounts definition to enable clear business performance reporting
Delivery Management / Stakeholder Management
- Team player who works collaboratively across client and KPMG teams
- Ability to manage day to day relationships with project team stakeholders and build relationships
- Management and coaching of junior team members
Communication & Presentation
- Excellent written communication skills to produce client ready presentation materials, leveraging KPMG assets where required
- Strong presentation skills to lead client workshops and clearly articulate concepts
Analysis & Problem Solving
- Ability to manage and interpret data effectively to develop future state operating model design options and undertake various analyses
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Ability to build business cases, clearly articulating case for change
- Ability to develop cost / benefit analysis
Your Qualifications
- Minimum five years of recent experience in the areas of financial accounting, finance operations, shared services, financial planning & analysis, and accounting ideally in a consulting environment.
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field from an accredited college/university
- Core finance process and finance operating model knowledge and experience
- Working knowledge of ERP/EPM system concepts and general module functionality
- Understanding of the major phases of ERP implementation
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship management skills
- Excellent verbal and analytical skills with the ability to write at a client-ready quality level
- Ability to Travel as required
