About the OPPORTUNITY
We're offering a career-defining opportunity for a talented and driven individual to join our team as Manager, Hosting and Networking Services, reporting directly to the Head of Digital, Data & Cyber - Enterprise Services.
In this pivotal role, you will lead the strategic direction and operational delivery of infrastructure services across BAE Systems' digital environments-spanning both on-premise and cloud platforms. You'll oversee core capabilities including Microsoft 365 foundational services, enterprise networking, hosting, data protection, and database platforms, ensuring seamless and secure delivery across both corporate and classified systems.
As a member of the Digital, Data & Cyber (DDC) management team, you will also play a key leadership role in shaping and executing the DDC Strategy, ensuring it aligns with broader organisational goals and contributes to the success of the enterprise.
Key responsibilities include:
- Steers the strategy and operations of Hosting and Network Services, aligning with enterprise digital transformation goals.
- Oversees cloud adoption, hybrid infrastructure, and ensures scalable, resilient IT service delivery.
- Accountable for performance, security, and compliance across corporate and classified environments.
- Manages a geographically dispersed team of up to 60, fostering a culture of development and continuous improvement.
- Owns and manages budgets up to $30M, balancing operational needs and project delivery.
- Negotiates and oversees vendor contracts up to $10M, ensuring strong commercial and service outcomes.
- Ensures compliance, risk management, and infrastructure lifecycle planning, including datacentre operations.
- Supports the executive team through reporting, insights, and acting as delegate when needed.
About YOU
- Extensive experience in heading up the IT infrastructure roles within large, complex organisations
- Proven ability to manage geographically dispersed teams
- Strong background in cloud strategy and hybrid infrastructure (e.g. Azure, AWS)
- Experience with ITIL-based service management frameworks
- Demonstrated success in vendor and commercial contract negotiation
- Budget and financial planning experience at a portfolio level
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Business, or related field
- Relevant certifications (e.g. ITIL, TOGAF, PMP, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect)
- Australian Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
