Job Description

About the role

As the Manager, Systems, Training & Insights at Sydney Airport, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of safety and wellbeing across one of Australia’s most iconic transport hubs. This is a strategically significant and high-impact opportunity to lead a specialist team of SMEs focused on continuous improvement, safety systems, reporting, and training initiatives.

You’ll drive the development and implementation of Sydney Airport’s Safety Management System (SMS), integrating Work Health & Safety (WHS), and Aviation Safety requirements. You'll be responsible for board-level safety inputs, system audits (ISO 45001 and MOS Part 139 SMS for Aerodromes), and the delivery of insights that influence both day-to-day operations and long-term strategic direction.

This broad role combines big-picture thinking with attention to detail—ensuring the business is supported through fit-for-purpose systems, specialist guidance, and high-level safety governance. You’ll lead initiatives that embed our Safety & Wellbeing Strategy, provide clarity and consistency across policies and procedures, and maintain effective safety training and digital platforms like Learn@SYD and Safeguards.
