  • The Bulletin of Indonesian Economic Studies(BIES) at the Australian National University (ANU)is seeking a qualified editor to manage and edit the journal for an 11-month period.
  • This opportunity will suit an editor with IPEd accreditation or tertiary education in publishing and editing
  • The BIES is the world’s leading journal on Indonesia’s economy and development and has been in continuous publication since 1965. It is a major activity of the ANU Indonesia Project.

Position overview

The ANU College of Law, Governance and Public Policy (CLGP) is a progressive and newly established College that brings together four world-leading academic schools dedicated to shaping the future of law, governance, regulation, policy and population health. The Crawford School of Public Policy is one of four schools within the CLGP and one of the world’s leading public policy schools. The Crawford School is the University’s focal point for contributing to public policy research, education and policy impact. Its graduate programs have trained many of the region’s leaders, and its research has influenced policy making. Public policy scholarship at the Crawford School is characterised by high-quality, policy-relevant research across a range of disciplines.

The School’s ANU Indonesia Project (the Project) is a major international centre for research and graduate training on the economy and society of Indonesia. The Project monitors and analyses economic development in Indonesia, informs the Australian and Indonesian governments, businesses and the wider community of these developments, and stimulates research on the Indonesian economy. The Project also maintains an extensive network of scholars, senior policy makers and ministers working on issues related to Indonesia and undertakes several capacity-building exercises. Among other things, the Project runs over 15 key activities in Australia and Indonesia each year.

The Bulletin of Indonesian Economic Studies (BIES) is a refereed journal that has been in continuous publication since 1965 and is a major activity of the Indonesia Project. BIES aims to address not only economic analysis and policy but also the intersection between economics, development and area studies. In doing so, it plays an important role in helping the world to better understand Indonesia.
