This position is for a traineeship in radiation oncology medical physics.

The successful candidate must enrol in the ACPSEM ROMP TEAP program. The position is annually renewed for the duration specified to the candidate by ACPSEM. This is usually 3 years for new TEAP candidates who hold the required ACPSEM accredited postgraduate qualifications (MSc or PhD).

Ongoing employment will be subject to adequate progress against ACPSEM TEAP training benchmarks.

Trainee physicists will be expected to work as part of a small team of radiation oncology physicists and be fully involved in all aspects of providing a clinical radiation oncology medical physics service. This includes routine QA and commissioning of linacs and other equipment, treatment plan checking, in-vivo dosimetry, research projects, relevant departmental clinical meetings, radiation safety duties and fostering a multi-disciplinary culture of clinical service delivery and research.

The ISLHD Cancer Division incorporates the Illawarra Cancer Care Centre and the Shoalhaven Cancer Care Centre.
