About Acute Care Team (ACT)

You will provide expert assessment and care planning for consumers presenting with acute mental health needs across a variety of settings.

The Acute Care Treatment Teams within mental health primary roles include intake, crisis intervention, assessment, screening admissions to public adult acute psychiatric inpatient services, intensive community based treatment and supplementary out-of-hours treatment and support.

About your new role

As part of our acute care team, you'll manage complex mental health presentations with confidence and compassion. You'll perform comprehensive risk assessments and deliver trauma-informed, recovery-oriented care in a dynamic clinical setting. Working collaboratively with psychiatrists, allied health professionals, and fellow nurses, you'll help provide truly wraparound support, ensuring patients receive coordinated, holistic care at every stage of their journey.

You will

Provide provision of care delivery in a variety of hospital and community settings
Apply professional knowledge and skills in clinical decision making under the practice supervision
Contribute to the clinical education of students and other less experienced staff in consultation with the support of senior clinical staff
Provide comprehensive care to consumers with an acute mental health issue

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

A tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Social Work
AHPRA Registration (Occupational Therapist and Psychologist only)
Eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (Social Worker only)
While not mandatory, post-graduate qualifications in health services management or equivalent would be well regarded
Experience working with people with an acute crisis or disorder is highly desirable
Driver Licence
Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

Permanent full time and permanent part time (several positions, hrs negotiable)
Base salary ranging from $107 960 - $115 604 per annum, $54.44 - $58.30 per hour
