We’re opening an exciting opportunity for an experienced and commercially driven Merchandise Planner to join our BCF team. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on turning numbers into strategy, has a sharp eye for stock and sales performance, and is ready to elevate their impact across the wider business.
Why this role?
As a key partner in the merchandise lifecycle, you’ll own the financial planning process for your Business Unit—shaping budgets, re-forecasting plans, and driving performance across sales, profit, GMROI and stockturn. You’ll work hand-in-hand with our Category, Demand & Supply, and Space Planning teams to ensure every decision is backed by insight, aligned to our customer-first strategy, and built for growth.
You’ll also play a leading role in planning and influencing:
- Range architecture and assortment strategies
- Promotional and clearance financial outcomes
- Clustering and inventory efficiency initiatives
- Category-level commercial planning and risk mitigation
What you'll bring to the role:
We’re looking for someone who brings both expertise and curiosity. You’re experienced in merchandise planning, with a strong grasp of financial levers—sales, gross profit, markdown management, OTB and COGS impact. You're confident working across systems and using data to tell a story, influence stakeholders, and propose well-grounded business cases.
You’re just as comfortable diving into the numbers as you are leading cross-functional conversations, championing process improvement, and coaching teams through change.
Key experience includes:
- Proven experience in merchandise planning (retail or similar environment)
- Financial and budget management, including OTB ownership
- Tactical experience managing sales, profit, stock and inventory health
- Strong influencing and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience with merchandise planning systems and analytical tools
