We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Metal Fabricator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting technical drawings and job specifications, preparing metal materials, and fabricating a range of products using advanced metalworking techniques. This includes marking out, cutting, forming and joining heavy metal components with high precision and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse drawings and specifications to determine job requirements and fabrication methods.
- Prepare metal materials by selecting, cleaning, and measuring stock to meet project needs.
- Cut and shape metal components using hand tools, mechanical cutting machines, or flame-cutting equipment.
- Form and assemble metal parts into structural frameworks or custom builds.
- Use welding, riveting, and bolting techniques to join components securely and accurately.
- Verify the quality of joins and welds, ensuring correct dimensions and strength of fabricated structures.
- Smooth and finish welded areas using grinders, files, or other tools.
- Operate or program fabrication equipment, including CNC or computer-aided machinery, when required
Skills and Experience Required:
- Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in heavy metal fabrication.
- Sound knowledge of welding processes and metalworking techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and use precision measuring tools.
- Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Capability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 – $91,529.55 per year
