We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide personalized care and support to individuals with disabilities, helping them lead independent and fulfilling lives. You will work closely with clients to assist with daily activities, promote well-being, and facilitate community involvement, all while respecting their dignity, autonomy, and preferences.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding as required.
- Support clients in engaging in social, recreational, and community activities, promoting inclusion and independence.
- Help with household tasks, such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing, to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment..
- Monitor and document client progress, behavior, and well-being, reporting any concerns to the supervisor or care team.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering positive relationships and trust.
- Assist clients with vocational skills, educational pursuits, or job-related tasks where applicable.
- Respect clients' privacy and confidentiality, ensuring their rights and preferences are always upheld.
- Ensure that all health and safety protocols are followed and that any incidents or accidents are documented promptly.
**Qualifications**:
- Previous experience in disability support, healthcare, or a related field is preferre.
- A compassionate and empathetic attitude with a strong commitment to client-centered care.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviors or situations with patience and professionalism.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- A valid driver’s license and access to reliable car.
- Valid Police check

- NDIS worker screening check
- Public liability insurance
- Active ABN
- NDIS worker orientation module
