Supporting Abilities for Everyone (S.A.F.E.) is seeking a passionate Disability Support Worker to join the team, located throughout north-eastern Melbourne.
- 62-year-old male participant.
- Ivanhoe location.
- - Day(s) to be confirmed. Possibility of 6:30 am - 8:30 am. Currently also support Tuesday(s) 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Wednesday(s) 10:00 am - 1:00 pm.
- Motor Neurone Disease (MND) diagnosis and experience preferred.
- Female support worker(s) preferred, but open to males if not requiring personal care.
- Requires supervision when mobilising in the morning.
- May require basic personal care.
- Tasks may include: Companionship, in-home support for morning routine (getting out of bed, dressing, taking cat outside, preparing tea/breakfast, etc).
- Support requirements expected to increase over time.
- Possibility for additional work with other participants nearby.
We are looking for a competent, enthusiastic and reliable Support Worker who possesses the right empathy, interpersonal skills and ethics to prioritise the care of our clients.
Essential Selection Criteria (or willingness to obtain):
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
- Current National Police Check
- Current Working with Children Check (Employee status/if working with participants <18 years of age).
- Valid Australian Driver’s License.
- A reliable vehicle with Comprehensive Car Insurance (to transport participants).
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (Approximately $123).
- Fully vaccinated against Covid-19 (minimum of two doses).
- The right to work in Australia.
