The role ensures full compliance with regulatory requirements under various Retail Rules, while also identifying, capturing, and sustaining commercial value. Through cross-functional collaboration, strategic insight, and a focus on performance outcomes, this position supports the business in meeting its obligations and achieving long-term commercial success.
A key focus of this role is to drive the design and implementation of a disciplined operational rhythm with the distribution business, metering coordinators, and other market participants in the network and metering space. Operational Optimisation: Proactively identify, assess, and implement process improvements and system enhancements aimed at optimising the efficiency, reliability, and quality of network and metering services delivered to Dodo’s customer base.
Program Delivery – Legacy Meter Replacement: Working with the Transformation Office (PMO), lead the execution of the Legacy Meter Replacement Program across the NEM, ensuring alignment with regulatory timelines and full compliance with the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) framework. Manage risk, resource planning, and stakeholder coordination to achieve program milestones efficiently.
Commercial Strategy & Regulatory Engagement:
Strategic Relationship Management: Define and direct the commercial strategy around the number, scope, and structure of third-party service provider relationships required to effectively support and manage the Dodo customer portfolio.
Revenue Protection: Design and implement commercial strategies focused on minimising revenue leakage associated with network and metering pass-through charges. Work with the Finance Billing team to ensure robust validation and reconciliation processes are in place.
Regulatory Advocacy: In conjunction with the Consumer Risk & Compliance team, actively participate in industry forums, regulatory consultations, and working groups within the networks and metering space to represent the interests of Dodo Power & Gas. Contribute to the shaping of policy outcomes and regulatory frameworks that affect the energy business.
Market Intelligence & Strategic Foresight: Continuously monitor market trends, evolving regulatory environments, and competitive movements. Use this intelligence to adapt commercial strategies, mitigate risks, and uncover new opportunities for commercial growth and operational advantage.
Self-Management:
Promote and live the Vocus values. Work in accordance with Vocus’ policies, processes, and procedures. Manage own work performance and work safety.
Develop own capability for current and future roles with continual learning and development. Accept coaching and mentoring. Communicate clearly and appropriately. Proactively demonstrate teamwork.
Building Relationships:
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with peer groups and key internal stakeholders including other product teams, Finance, Sales & Marketing, Digital, Consumer Service, Commercial Management, Legal, and Regulatory teams.
