We are currently recruiting for a 12-month Electrical Operator position to be based at Tamala Park/Red Hill. The purpose of the position is to operate and maintain LFG power station plant and equipment in a reliable and cost-efficient manner to maximise operating availability. Ensuring the highest standards of safety and environmental performance are adhered to.
Key accountabilities
• Have a strong attitude towards safety and safety management systems.
• Carry out Maintenance on Gas fired Caterpillar Engine generators and associated control systems.
• Maintain and operate Oracle Maintenance Management System.
• Ensure compliance with WHS, Work Cover, DEMIRS and all legislation and regulations are abided by.
• Be responsible and show pro-active towards breakdowns and essential maintenance.
• Show initiative and a willingness to undertake ongoing training both internal and external to the Company.
• Shared call out roster
• Manage Warehouse Stock and Inventory levels.
• Ensure good site housekeeping.
Person Specification
• Trouble shooting and basic fault-finding skills.
• Knowledge and understanding of process operations in power generation plants.
• Proficiency using computers and programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel.
• Reliable, committed and motivated to achieving Company and team goals and objectives.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Be self-motivated and able to work independently.
• High Organisational skills, plan and execute site maintenance tasks.
• Good report writing skills.
• Flexible, work effectively in a team environment and demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm, commitment and strong communication skills on a daily basis.
Qualifications and Experience
• Mandatory- WA “A” Grade Electrical License (“Electrical Mechanical”)
• Mandatory- Current WA drivers’ licence (“C” class).
• Mandatory- First Aid certificate / LV Rescue
• 5 years Industrial safety experience.
• Able to assist with Mechanical duties
• Ability to carry out low level Gas Engine and Alternator Servicing, testing, maintenance and fault finding.
• Knowledge of PLCs, control systems, AVRs, Governors, Protection Relays and UPS Systems
• Knowledge of Safety Systems JSEAs, Permit to Work
• Knowledge of Oracle Maintenance Management System an advantage.
• Experience with Landfill Gas Power Stations will be highly regarded.
• Police Clearance
• Desirable- Forklift High risk license.
• Desirable - HV Switching qualification.
• Desirable- (Instrumentation) qualifications.
• Desirable- Power station, experience.
• Desirable- Working at Heights, Confined Space
You will be a highly motivated, self-starter with excellent communications skills and work effectively in a small, collaborative team environment.
