Albany Hills State School Outside School Hours Care is currently seeking applications for a Permanent part-time position as the service's Menu Coordinator/Educator. This is a new position that has potential to grow and develop with the right applicant.
Albany Hills OSHC provides Before (6:30-8:30am) and After School Care (3pm-6pm) and Vacation Care (6:30am-6pm) Monday to Friday. The role of menu coordinator will require the successful candidate to work a rotating roster with shifts that vary between the hours of 10am and 5:30pm.
Previous OSHC knowledge and experience, Certificate or Diploma qualifications in OSHC/children's services or current study in a related course are desirable but not essential. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants are encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will be someone who will actively engage with children, show initiative, be hardworking, flexible, honest, and reliable. We are looking for someone who is willing to learn and grow within our service. The successful applicant will be required to;
- Prepare and cook interesting and nutritious food to feed the children of the service (licensed for 240) for a variety of meals that may include: breakfast, morning tea, Lunch and afternoon tea.
- Plan and prepare a rotational menu and purchase groceries while adhering to the service's budget.
- Understand and allow for food allergies (including anaphylaxis) in way that is inclusive and eliminates the chance of cross-contamination.
- Have excellent hygiene and food practices.
- Work with the children to prepare food items as part of the service's educational program.
- Other associated duties at the coordinator of the service coordinator.
In addition to the above, the Menu Coordinator will also be required to perform the role of an educator which involves supervision and engaging with children, planning and facilitation of the service program, documentation, cleaning and other related tasks.
Wages are paid as per the P&C State Award 2016. Albany Hills OSHC is a recipient of the Federal Government's Early Childhood Education and Care Worker Retention Payment.
The successful candidate is required to have, or be willing to obtain, First Aid Qualification: Provide and Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting. They will also be required to have, or to complete, a Food Handler course that is recognised in QLD.
Applicants must have a Paid Working with Children Suitability Card prior to commencement of paid work. Successful applicants will also be required to supply a National Police Certificate that is no more than six months old.
