Role Details
The Paper Conservator provides paper conservation services for the extensive collections of the Art Gallery of SA, SA Museum, History Trust of SA, State Library of SA and Carrick Hill, as well as for fee for service clients. Preventive conservation including Intensive IPM, collection packing and relocation activities will also be undertaken for the Cultural Institutions Storage Facility Transition Project.Special Conditions
- The Incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Management Program.
- The Incumbent may be assigned to another position at this remuneration level or equivalent.
- Some work outside of normal hours will be required.
- This role requires a National Criminal History check.

- Provision of services on-site at client locations will be required together with some out-of-hours work.

Essential Qualification: - Degree in Conservation of Cultural Material or equivalent, specialising in paper conservation.

About the Business
Artlab Australia leads the preservation of the state’s extensive cultural assets through the provision of strategic advice, expertise and specialised conservation services for art, heritage and cultural collections. The team is responsible for the conservation programs of the Art Gallery of South Australia, South Australian Museum, State Library of South Australia, History Trust of South Australia and Carrick Hill. Artlab also provides conservation services to Riddoch Art Gallery and to a wide range of fee-for-service clients within Australia and overseas. Preventive conservation services assist collection managers and owners to protect their collections and respond to disasters. Education and advisory services support communities in the preservation of their cultural heritage.Contact Us
