Are you an experienced hospitality professional with a passion for delivering exceptional service? Bring your expertise to our team as a Patient Food Service Cleaner, where you’ll play a vital role in enhancing the care and experience of our patients.
In this role, you’ll be the friendly face patients rely on for their food and beverage needs, while ensuring our kitchen remains clean, safe, and efficient. Imagine using your skills to create a positive impact every day, working alongside a supportive team committed to excellence in patient care.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Clean Kitchen Surfaces: Wipe down countertops, sinks, stoves, and other surfaces to remove dirt, grease, and food particles.
- Floor Cleaning: Sweep, mop, and sanitize kitchen floors regularly to prevent accidents and maintain hygiene.
- Clean Kitchen Equipment: Wash and sanitize kitchen appliances such as ovens, fridges, microwaves, dishwashers, and ventilation systems.
- Trash Disposal: Empty kitchen trash bins and ensure proper waste disposal. Replace liners and clean trash receptacles.
- Cleaning Storage Areas: Keep storage areas organized and free of debris.
- Assist with Food Safety Compliance: Ensure all areas are cleaned according to safety and sanitation standards. Report any health and safety concerns.
- Periodic Deep Cleaning: Perform deep cleaning tasks on a rotating basis, including cleaning ovens, vents, behind kitchen equipment, trolleys and other hard-to-reach areas.
- Maintain Equipment: Ensure cleaning equipment (mops, brooms, vacuums, etc.) is in good working condition and report any issues.
- Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen staff to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
What you will bring:
You’ll thrive in this role if you’re motivated, adaptable, and ready to contribute to a fast-paced healthcare environment. Alongside your passion for outstanding service, you’ll bring:
- A Food Handlers Certificate (or willingness to obtain one with us)
- Knowledge of culinary and dietary terminology (diet codes are a plus!)
- At least 12 months of experience in food service (preferred but not essential)
- A willingness to learn and take direction in a dynamic setting
- Strong communication skills, including fluency in written and spoken English
- A flexible and adaptable approach to shift work across seven days a week, including weekends and public holidays
- Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with patients and colleagues alike
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks, including bending, lifting, and kneeling.
