We are recruiting a HR Payroll Systems and Project Officer who thrives in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment?
The purpose of this role is to lead and be the SME on all Payroll related projects including compliance and governance, and to support the Manager and Payroll team. This role ensures the Payroll Data is compliant against relevant legislation including application of Anglicare’s EAs; assists in timely and accurate payment of salaries, wages, and related benefits; and ensures the maintenance of pay records, data and processes relating to our people and their benefits.

Your opportunity
With integrity and resilience, you will:
  • Ensure that pay and benefits are administered and paid accurately, on time and in compliance with legislation, industrial instruments and procedures. This includes (but is not limited to) workers compensation wages, superannuation, travel reimbursements, salary packaging and other salary sacrifice benefits.
  • Responsible for external audits, compliance reviews and other risk management and governance activities.
  • Contributes to improving the efficiency of payroll processes and strengthening controls and governance.
  • Ensures the accurate configuration in Chris21/iCHRIS by running regular reports across the various forms and updating as required.
  • Responsible for updating, adding and changing basic system configuration as required by legislation, Enterprise Agreements and changes to policy.
  • Act as Payroll SME for Absence, Time and Compensation in Workday.
  • Keep abreast of system upgrades and participate in UAT with IT systems specialist.
  • Review and respond to Workday and Time and Attendance systems (KRONOS and ARK) integration issues.
  • Complete system BAU task such as End of Month and End of Year tasks.
  • Lead SME on Payroll related projects.
  • Works with external vendors supporting the payroll function.
  • Anticipates and raises impacts to Payroll processes.
  • Identify and implement new procedures to ensure continuous improvement of the payroll function.
What you’ll bring
  • More than 5 years’ experience in Payroll systems support / Projects or similar role.
  • Sound knowledge of computerized pay systems and general personnel procedures.
  • Experience working on Chris21 (essential) iChris (desirable).
  • Experience working on WorkDay (strongly desirable).
  • Demonstrated strong project experience.
  • Demonstrated process improvement experience.
  • Understanding of AI and automation tools and willingness to adopt these.
  • Ability to work in high volume complex environment.
  • Exceptional customer service, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Strong stakeholder relationship management.
  • Sound knowledge of payroll procedures, payroll systems, time & attendance, general staff procedures.
