About the Role
Join a purpose-driven team helping vulnerable Victorians access the entitlements they deserve. As a Personal Financial Consultant in our Total and Permanent Disability (TPD) and Estate Confirmation Team (ECT), you'll manage sensitive legal and financial matters for clients who can no longer manage their own affairs.
You'll handle complex superannuation insurance claims (TPD, income protection, terminal illness) and investigate Testator Family Maintenance (TFM) claims. This is a unique opportunity to combine technical financial expertise with real-world social impact.
Duties
- Proactively manage TPD, income protection, and terminal illness claims
- Identify and investigate TFM claims, including document reviews and estate searches
- Liaise with solicitors, courts and the Superannuation Complaints Tribunal
- Consult with clients (where appropriate), VCAT, and guardians to progress matters
- Provide technical training and ongoing support to internal consultants and leaders
- Maintain accurate reporting, documentation and legislative compliance
Skills and Experience
- Experience in personal financial administration or case management
- Excellent communication, analytical and investigative skills
- Knowledge of superannuation insurance and estate-related legislation
- Confidence interpreting probate documents and legal processes
- Empathy and capability to work with clients with disability
- Willingness to learn and support technical training delivery
- Desirable: Background in law, business, accounting, or a related field
