Casual roles available
- The role of the Porter / Courier is to provide support across the hospital, working a 7-day rotating roster.
- Salary Classification: Hospital Assistant Grade 2
- Remuneration: $29.06 per hour + superannuation + salary packaging options
About the Role:
The Courier-Porter is responsible for providing safe and courteous Porter Services throughout the hospital. As a courier you will be maintaining high quality customer service to not only patients, but their families and other departments throughout the hospital. The successful applicant will be available 7 days per week from Monday to Sunday.
The rotating roster works 8-hour shifts over a 7-day period. The shift times are:
6:00am - 2:30pm
7:30am - 4:00pm
8:30am - 5pm
10:00am - 6:30pm
12:00pm - 8:30pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Transportation of patients and equipment
- Movement of blood, blood products and pathology specimens
- Assisting with transport of medical records
- Assisting with Pharmacy and Pathology deliveries (including cytotoxic drugs) and other general courier duties.
About You:
- Commitment to providing professional customer service to patients, staff and members of the public in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Manual Handling and Infection Control principles privacy and confidentiality obligations.
- Commitment to further training with a willingness and flexibility to relieve in higher grade positions.
- Demonstrated effective communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team and ability to work independently as required.
- Able to work unsupervised and proficient in periods of high demand and activity.

- Security licence is desirable but not needed.
- Working With Children Check (WWCC).
