Principal Adviser
- Salary: $138,631 - $185,518 (Plus Superannuation)

The Role
The Principal Adviser provides expert strategic advice and exceptional project management to enable high performance of the Economic Policy, Programs and Services Group in achieving its objectives of sustainable economic development and employment growth for Victoria.
The responsibilities of the Principal Adviser will include:
- Using knowledge of structures, processes and culture of government, the sector and the department to develop policies and new program or project initiatives
- Developing policy frameworks within area of expertise or responsibility based on defined organisational priorities
- Routinely advising senior stakeholders on policy issues and solutions within a functional area
The Team
The position of Principal Adviser forms a part of the Office of the Deputy Secretary in the Economic Policy, Programs and Services group.
Economic Policy, Programs and Services Group (EPPS) supports delivery of sustainable economic development and employment growth for Victoria. The Group supports DJSIR's delivery of strategic priorities through the entirety of the policy and project lifecycle, by providing leadership and expertise in policy design, research, analysis and advice, project management, delivery and evaluation.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:
- Policy Design and Development: Builds trusting relationships with Senior Leaders across the VPS to engender support for proposals.
- Working Collaboratively: Build a culture of collaboration across the organisation; Looks for and facilitates opportunities to collaborate with external stakeholders; Identifies and overcomes barriers to communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Strategic Planning: Guides others through the strategic planning process, creating a shared vision for the future.
