About the Role
This position includes responsibilities for delivering education and training to medical students and other staff, under the supervision of the University of Queensland. Fifty percent of the role is dedicated to this function
Ensure patients and other staff are treated fairly and with mutual respect and understanding, regardless of cultural, religious, ethnic and linguistic backgrounds.
Lead and manage staff by fostering and committing to patient safety and quality in the delivery of health care by maintaining and evaluating safety and quality practices and initiatives.
To provide ethical decision making in the achievement of organisational goals provide inpatient outpatient care by assessing patients, determining and instigating appropriate investigation
Establish management plan for patients in consultation with the consultant
Where appropriate, ensure discharge planning commences early in the process of care
Leadership in improving and developing UQ PAH Southside Clinical Unit programs, including How to Be a Better Teacher, How to Be a Better Intern and Training Pathways
Undergo further professional training in Education, as applicable
Medical student training that includes
Making a substantial contribution to supervision and teaching of undergraduate students across all 4 years of the MD program
Contribute to undergraduate teaching at University of Queensland (UQ) PAH Southside Clinical Unit
Assist with the development of learning materials and assessment for undergraduate students
Assist with the delivery of student assessment eg Direct Observation of procedural skills (DOPS) and Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE)
Contribute to the administration of educational activities within UQ PAH Southside Clinical Unit
Work to develop skills as a simulation educator and contribute to simulation education for students at UQ PAH Southside Clinical Unit
Vascular access training of medical students
Multiple medical interview station examination
Create examination questions for OSCE and MCQ exams.
Contribute to educational research projects where applicable
