Your Role
As the Principal Policy Officer you will:
Play a lead role in the review of resourcing for students with disability in Queensland's state schools including designing future approaches that are fair, sustainable, and meet the needs of students, schools, and communities
Identify, research and develop service delivery and policy options related to students with disability and schools resourcing
Prepare timely and well researched submissions, briefs and reports and provide strategic advice to senior officers within the department, the Director-General and the Minister
Liaise and negotiate with a range of internal and external stakeholders a multi-disciplinary environment
Research, analyse and assess key education issues relevant to the Queensland Government and formulate innovative and workable service delivery and policy options
Provide high level legislative and strategic policy advice for the Minister, the Director-General and senior officers.
Prepare major policy papers, briefings, reports and submissions (including Cabinet submissions) within tight timeframes
Consult with relevant departments, education stakeholders and community groups on policy and service delivery matters
Lead the development, progression, implementation and evaluation of significant policy and service delivery projects and manage conflicting priorities
