About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Principal Portfolio & Analysis professional to join our Project Controls and Analysis (PC&A) team in support of CCAP.
Reporting to the Lead, Project Controls and Analysis, you will play a key role in delivering portfolio analysis, forecasting, reporting, and planning support across three Assets: Copper SA, BMA, and NSWEC. This role is instrumental in providing forward-looking insights and strategic analysis to support decision-making within CCAP.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead and contribute to:
- Monthly portfolio reporting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
- Cash prioritisation and budget planning (2-year budget and 5-year outlook) across three assets.
- Monitoring and analysis of OPEX and CAPEX portfolio performance.
- Development and implementation of project and portfolio performance metrics.
- Early identification and communication of portfolio risks and variances.
- Coordination and optimisation of portfolio systems (e.g., PlanView).
- Ongoing implementation of the BHP Operating System (BOS) and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
You are a results-driven professional with a strong background in project cost control and a deep understanding of how projects operate within a broader business context. You thrive in dynamic environments and are eager to make a meaningful impact.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience in a Project Controls & Analysis (PC&A) subject matter expert role, ideally within mining or major capital projects
- Strong expertise in project cost control and cost systems.
- A track record of delivering value through effective project controls leadership
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business (Finance/Accounting), Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills.
- A solid understanding of project and portfolio risks, interdependencies, and critical paths.
Location
The role is based in Brisbane, working Monday to Friday with a 3-2-1 arrangement. Minimum of three days from the office, two days from home, one of those days must be a Monday or Friday. To find out more about working with BHP and to meet some of our team, click here
