About the Role

The Procurement Officer will be a driving force behind Lutheran Homes Group’s (LHG) procurement and supply chain operations, with a strong focus on maximising the use of TechnologyOne’s Supply Chain Management system. This role is central to ensuring LHG’s procure-to-pay processes runs seamlessly — efficient, compliant, and strategically aligned to organisational goals. Acting as the first point of contact for procurement and commercial matters, the Procurement Officer will work closely with stakeholders, support tendering and sourcing activities, and guide contract negotiations. By leveraging TechOne’s full capabilities, the role will also lead continuous improvement in supplier management, contractor compliance, and reporting, providing the insights needed to enhance value, performance, and accountability across the organisation.

Your key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Support procurement activities including vendor engagement, sourcing, quotation/tender processes, contract negotiation, and execution of low to medium risk procurement.
  • Maintain and update the central contract and procurement registers, ensuring accuracy, compliance with policies, and alignment with Capital Works and operational requirements.
  • Monitor contractor performance and KPIs, providing reporting and feedback to stakeholders to support improvements.
  • Administer and provide user support for the contractor management system (e.g. Rapid Global) and procurement functions in TechOne, including catalogues, pricing, and inventory records.
  • Act as the first point of contact for procurement and commercial enquiries, providing guidance and support to stakeholders and escalating issues where necessary.

About you
  • Tertiary qualifications in supply chain management, commerce, or other business-related studies or equivalent experience
  • Membership of a procurement or commerce related profession (e.g. CIPS, the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) – Desirable
  • Proven ability to negotiate, coordinate, and manage contracts with a strong understanding of procurement processes and compliance.
  • Skilled in strategic thinking, financial analysis, and process optimisation with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders through strong communication and collaboration.
  • Brings a proactive, self-directed, and solution-oriented approach with the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.
  • Knowledge of contract management methodologies, aged care standards, and relevant legislation, with experience in aged care considered an advantage.

Candidates may be subject to a pre-employment medical assessment with the successful candidate requiring current NDIS worker clearance. In accordance with current health guidelines for the aged care sector, candidates are encouraged to have all recommended vaccinations.

Special Requirements
  • Current NDIS Clearance that is suitable for working unsupervised in aged care/ with vulnerable groups.
  • A current Australian driver’s licence (P2 or above) and a willingness to drive is essential
