About the Role
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Portfolio Procurement Manager to lead and deliver best-in-class procurement solutions across our organisation. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the business receives the goods, services, and facilities it needs on time, at the right quality, and at the best total cost of ownership.
This position will be supporting the Digital business group.
You will set the direction for the procurement function, lead a team of dedicated professionals, and ensure the efficient and effective delivery of procurement services that support our operational and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Set the direction, objectives, and goals for the procurement team in alignment with the organisation’s strategy. Act as an internal consultant to identify opportunities for improvement and provide strategic procurement support to stakeholders.
- Category Management: Lead the development and execution of category strategies across the full value chain demand, source, fulfil, and manage based on spend analysis, stakeholder needs, budgets, and market dynamics.
- Team Leadership: Manage and support a high-performing procurement team. Provide coaching and mentoring to ensure efficient service delivery, compliance, and continuous improvement. Step in to assist with project delivery when required.
- Performance & Governance: Ensure effective project management practices are in place, with accurate tracking, reporting, and escalation. Contribute to the development and monitoring of team KPIs and hold the team accountable for outcomes.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong, transparent relationships with internal stakeholders, including senior executives. Improve stakeholder experience throughout the procurement lifecycle and manage competing priorities with influence and strategic insight.
Skills and Experience
- Over 12 years’ experience in complex procurement environments, ideally within a similar industry or organisation.
- Minimum 4 years in a senior procurement leadership role with a proven track record of strategic delivery.
- Expertise in strategic sourcing, category management, commercial advisory, and supplier/contract management.
- Strong leadership capabilities with demonstrated success in coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
- Proven ability to lead change, influence senior stakeholders, and manage cross-functional relationships.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience in developing and implementing procurement strategies and advising at executive level.
- Recognised for providing strategic insights on sector risks, trends, and organisational impact.
- Skilled in reporting procurement outcomes to executive leadership and governance bodies.
