We are looking for applicants to join our Global Procurement Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) Team in a Specialist HME role to be based in our Perth office.
This key role will lead the commercial relationship with our premier Key Productivity Partner, Komatsu for the Iron Ore business (RTIO). This role is a great opportunity for someone with exceptional stakeholder management skills, strong commercial acumen and deep technical knowledge of HME looking to join a high performing Global Mobile Equipment commercial team.
Reporting to the Principal Advisor, HME - Procurement, some of the duties you will perform are:
Develop and maintain strong, robust and productive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
Follow the Rio Tinto Procurement category management cycle with specific emphasis on contract drafting, contract implementation and category management.
Lead supplier relationship management (SRM) activities with Komatsu to ensure; contractual requirements are met, escalations are resolved, and strategic projects are progressed.
Manage cross-functional working groups to ensure business needs are fully understood and adopted as part of the HME category strategies.
Expand on your existing domain knowledge to perform analysis across key value drivers to provide actionable insights.
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
Bachelor’s degree in commerce, law or a relevant mining related degree, with experience in mining and/or heavy mining equipment and/or technical expertise in the HME category.
Articulate and succinct verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
Proven track record of achieving positive outcomes through negotiation, influencing and collaboration.
Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to build robust and productive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to project manage, problem solve, critically analyse and balance multiple competing priorities.
Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to lead workshops, challenge the status quo to find better ways.

Rio Tinto Procurement (RTP) provides supply chain services that deliver value to the Rio Tinto Group through end to end Category Management (strategy, strategic sourcing, and buying of goods and services and strategic customer, supplier and market management). This role is Perth based, with flexible work arrangements as agreed with your leader. Some domestic travel may be required.
