Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Production Planner to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining efficient production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products, optimal use of manufacturing resources, and alignment with customer demand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on sales forecasts, inventory levels, and production capacity.
- Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, and production teams to ensure availability of materials and components.
- Monitor work orders and production status to identify and resolve bottlenecks or delays.
- Ensure efficient allocation of resources including labor, equipment, and materials.
- Analyze capacity and resource utilization to improve production efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Adjust production plans in response to changes in demand, equipment failures, or material shortages.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of production metrics, inventory levels, and schedule performance.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the production planning process.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience in production planning within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials flow, and shop floor operations.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Solid organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- APICS CPIM or CSCP certification.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
