About the role
As a Program Analyst, you will provide support to the Delivery Office and Program Managers by delivering critical services that enable successful delivery of a portfolio of projects and programs. These support services covering analysis of program financials, procurement, schedules, risks issues and dependencies. You will be required to support multi-disciplined team of project professionals to deliver project output to the success of portfolio initiatives.
You will also provide logistical support to Program Managers in preparation for meetings, workshops and project boards, ensuring programs and projects maintain a high standard of record keeping and information management.
Day to day, you'll:
- Help Program and Project Managers make better budgeting and forecasting decisions by providing financial analysis.
- Compare actual project spending against forecasts by category to support better project and business decisions.
- Create financial reports and analysis when requested by Program or Project Managers.
- Procurement and Purchase Order Management.
- Lead purchase order processes for both labour (e.g. external workers) and non-labour (e.g. Statements of Work).
- Scheduling and Progress Tracking.
- Build and maintain integrated schedules for programs and projects, managing dependencies across work streams.
- Track and report on completed work, remaining tasks, milestones, and dependencies to support decision-making.
- Assist in identifying and analysing risks and issues, ensuring they are recorded and mitigation plans align with Australian Retirement Trust’s Risk Framework.
- Evaluate how effective mitigation plans are and assess changes in residual risk to support informed decisions.
- Help prepare change impact assessments and reports for project boards, sponsors, or governance bodies.
This role is available as a 12-month max-term/ secondment opportunity.
About you
It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:
- Proven experience working within a PMO context, at either program or portfolio office levels.
- A strong understanding of portfolio, program and project delivery frameworks, including associated risk management and control frameworks.
- Project financials management.
- Capability to work with a variety of stakeholders that have different needs and objectives.
