In this role, you'll:
Be responsible for performing day-to-day project management, operational, compliance and administrative activities to support project development and delivery and maintenance activities in Far West NSW for Project Services West.
This includes working with Contract Managers and Engineers to ensure that projects are delivered within Transport for NSW safety, environment and quality requirements.
A key activity of the role is providing project management support, managing efficient project and administrative systems and effective internal and external communication and reporting to ensure project success.
The Project Officer will also be responsible for:
• Providing project and operational support, including monitoring and reporting on project plans, milestones and deliverables, to ensure time, cost and quality indicators are in line with approved project plans.
• Providing support to Senior Project Manager, Contract Managers and Engineers.
• Providing site surveillance and project management for projects in Far West NSW
• Working cooperatively and demonstrating a continuous improvement and growth mind-set by contributing and testing ideas for improving work practices, collaborating with internal and external business areas, to achieve objectives and work outcomes.
This is an ongoing full-time role located in the Far West. The role location is negotiable across the Far West Region, with offices in Broken Hill, Nyngan, Narrabri and Dubbo. TfNSW is committed to hybrid ways to providing flexible working arrangements for the successful candidate.

About you
You have appropriate trade or qualifications and/or demonstrated relevant, equivalent experience in road and bridge contracts, and construction and maintenance practices.
You have demonstrated research and data analytical skills and proficient computer skills including experience using Microsoft Office applications.
You use your excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills to proactively build strong relationships with an array of internal and external stakeholders.
You are self-driven, you’re able to work away from home to meet project requirements and you are a proactive safety advocate for all works.
You have experience working on your own and in teams to tight deadlines and have a successful track record in delivering great customer experience outcomes.
Project management skills and knowledge of road maintenance and construction will be highly regarded as will any qualifications in Safety, Environment and/or Quality.
You hold a current unrestricted NSW Motor Vehicle driver’s licence.
You may be required to work outside of normal working hours, and you will be required to travel throughout the Far West region and work at locations away from home.
