The Provisional Fellow position in Community Child Health at Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick, provides Advanced Trainees an opportunity to further their training, developing skills important for a consultant role in the spheres of clinical care, education and training as well as research with support from the team consultants and other health care professionals. The Provisional Fellow role is a leadership role, both within the department for other junior medical staff and medical students as well as members of the multidisciplinary team, but also across the broader hospital community.

This is a 0.6FTE position available to 01 February 2026. The successful applicant must be available to fulfill the full 0.6FTE available. Please refer to the statement of duties for this position and contact person for further information about the position.

Selection Criteria:

  • MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
  • Registered with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) as an advanced trainee or equivalent. Those registered with the RACP, must have preferably completed a minimum 6 months as an advanced trainee with RACP (or equivalent) at the commencement of Fellowship.
  • 6 months experience in relevant subspecialty or equivalent. Please detail relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and teamwork skills with demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with other health professionals.
  • Ongoing commitment to further education and professional development and demonstrated ability to teach, with a willingness to participate in the teaching of Medical Students, Junior Medical Staff and other clinical staff.
  • Understanding of research methodology or research experience and a willingness to undertake research proposal.
  • Able to meet on call requirements of the individual positions.
