Company Description
Montu is Australia's largest healthtech business with a focus on alternative healthcare. Founded in 2019, it supports patients, doctors and pharmacies through its Alternaleaf clinic, offers accredited healthcare education to clinicians via its SAGED platform, and dispensing solutions to pharmacies across Australia through Leafio. Montu is also the founding member of Cannabis Council Australia, a non-for-profit advocacy body that advances legislative change across the healthcare landscape. Our mission is to make alternative healthcare more affordable and accessible for the millions who could benefit.
Montu has been recognised as Australia’s fastest-growing tech company in the Deloitte TechFast 50 for two consecutive years (#1 in 2022 and 2023), achieving remarkable revenue growth of 26,000% and 9,000%. Named #1 on LinkedIn’s Top Startups Australia 2024, Montu has cemented its position as the largest business of its kind outside North America and continues to evolve on its journey.
This role is an Australia-based, fully work-from-home position, with access to co-working spaces in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Job Description
We’re looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Quality Assurance Officer to join our Clinical Governance team and help raise the bar in how virtual healthcare is delivered at Montu. This is a key role in ensuring our practitioners operate safely, ethically, and in full compliance with relevant standards — including NSQHS, federal/state prescribing laws, and telehealth privacy frameworks.
You’ll work closely with clinical data, AI-assisted tools, and cross-functional teams to run regular audits, surface insights, and support improvements to our quality systems. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in healthcare quality or compliance to shape the future of virtual care in Australia.
What you’ll be doing
- Run monthly and quarterly audits of clinical activities — including prescribing, documentation, credentialing, and patient consent.
- Monitor practitioner conduct and flag potential issues using AI filters and Patient Management System (PMS) alerts.
- Maintain accurate records of audits, follow-ups, and resolutions.
- Identify recurring issues and escalate risks to senior leaders and the Clinical Governance team.
- Support investigation and improvement projects related to adverse events, privacy breaches, or patient complaints.
- Collaborate with Clinical Ops and Product teams to embed QA insights into workflows and tools.
- Contribute to the development of QA systems — including checklists, dashboards, and benchmarks.
- Assist with internal and external reporting, including compliance dashboards and management summaries.
- Stay on top of privacy, prescribing, and telehealth regulations to keep Montu ahead of the curve.
Qualifications
- 3+ years in a quality assurance, clinical auditing, or compliance role — ideally in healthcare, digital health, or a regulated clinical setting.
- Strong understanding of clinical governance frameworks (bonus if you know NSQHS inside out).
- Confident reading and interpreting clinical documentation against formal standards.
- Experience with digital systems — whether that’s PMS tools, AI filters, or compliance dashboards.
- Excellent written communication — able to turn complex findings into clear reports and recommendations.
- Analytical thinker with high attention to detail and solid professional judgement.
- Comfortable working independently and collaborating across teams.
- Knowledge of virtual care models and a commitment to driving safe, high-quality patient outcomes.
