Are you passionate about supporting community recovery and ensuring transparency in public programs? The NSW Reconstruction Authority is seeking up to 4x Reconstruction Claims & Assurance Officers to join our Reconstruction Coordination team. These roles play a vital part in ensuring the accuracy and consistency of funding submissions and claims, supporting councils and delivery partners in their reconstruction efforts.


About the role

As a Reconstruction Claims & Assurance Officer, you’ll contribute to the smooth operation of regional reconstruction programs by providing informal quality assurance, tracking project progress, and supporting internal coordination. Your work will help ensure funding submissions are complete, compliant, and aligned with program requirements. In this role, you’ll:

  • Support regional coordination teams by informally reviewing council funding submissions and claims, ensuring accuracy and alignment with program guidelines.

  • Maintain detailed claim verification records and monitor project progress to support robust reporting and assurance.

  • Help streamline internal workflows for claims tracking and stakeholder engagement, keeping operations smooth and responsive.

  • Prepare briefings and provide clear, timely information to councils, delivery partners, and stakeholders.

  • Uphold strong documentation and data management standards to support effective project delivery.

  • Assist in developing guidance materials and templates to help councils meet funding and documentation requirements

  • Liaise with councils and agencies to clarify expectations and facilitate the flow of information

  • Analyse claim and project data to identify trends, gaps, or anomalies that inform assurance processes and program oversight

About You

You are detail-oriented, analytical, and take pride in delivering high-quality work in a dynamic environment. You demonstrate initiative and autonomy in decision-making and enjoy balancing technical accuracy with practical problem-solving.


You’ll bring:

  • A working understanding of infrastructure delivery and/or government grant programs

  • Familiarity with local government operations or funding processes

  • Experience in project management, project administration, or documentation coordination roles

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

  • A proactive and collaborative approach to supporting recovery efforts


Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, quantity surveying, finance, or a related discipline, and/or relevant professional experience in infrastructure recovery or funding assessment

  • Demonstrated experience in managing or supporting infrastructure projects, funding submissions, or documentation processes
