About the Role
Reporting to the Manager Reliability Engineering and Train Dynamics, this position will have key accountability for the provision of Reliability Engineering support to various teams within our Queensland business.
The purpose of the Reliability Principal is to improve reliability and availability of the rollingstock fleet, while reducing maintenance costs in line with reliability-centred maintenance principles and using condition monitoring techniques.
Key responsibilities include:
- Technical expert in Failure Mode, Effect and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM) and Condition Monitoring
- Provide frontline support to Maintenance Execution teams on reliability investigations
- Key reference for leading practices in utilising condition monitoring processes to improve efficiencies and safety
- Develop reliability improvement scopes of work and programmes for improvement to fleet performance
- Monitor in-service incidents across the business to identify, classify, trend and report on reliability incidents
About You
To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be able to demonstrate a solid Engineering background in rail or other heavy industry.
High-level communication ability is essential, with verbal, written and interpersonal skills integral to success in this role. You will need to demonstrate proven relationship management strengths, with clear evidence of your ability to build successful stakeholder relationships.
In this position you must be available to travel inter and intra state as required and on a weekly basis.
In addition, you’ll be expected to demonstrate:
- Degree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical or Condition Monitoring-related Engineering or other relevant discipline and or;
- Proven industry experience in maintenance and reliability engineering and/or condition monitoring of equipment.
- Demonstrated experience in the application of FMECA, RCM and Condition Monitoring; and
- Background in heavy industry, transport, rail, avionics, or other related industries essential.
