What You’ll Be Doing:

The Kalgoorlie Miner is on the hunt for a driven either a Graduate or an Experienced Journalist to join our dynamic team in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia!
Key Responsibilities:
- Writing and breaking news stories for print and online platforms, keeping our readers informed and engaged.
- Building strong relationships with local figures, organizations, and the community.
- Interviewing key people, capturing photos, and providing content that brings our stories to life.
- Collaborating with the Editor and newsroom team to shape story development and news planning.
- Using your passion for news and digital media to upskill in social media promotion and digital production.
What You’ll Bring:
- Strong writing, interviewing, and communication skills – you know how to find a good story and tell it well.
- A passion for local news with an interest in government topics a plus.
- The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with a sense of urgency.
- A flexible, proactive attitude, ready to tackle whatever the day throws at you.
- A valid driver’s license and a willingness to go the extra mile.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
