Are you looking for a career step or a leadership position? We are looking for an Assistant House Supervisor to join the team in providing quality care for young people in our residential care homes.

As an Assistant House Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily care of young people, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development. You will step in to lead during times when the House Supervisor is not present and maintain a safe, healthy, and harmonious home environment.

Your key responsibilities will include guiding residential care workers, promote therapeutic care practices, and ensure the home runs smoothly. Strong leadership and the application of learned therapeutic techniques will be essential in delivering high-quality care and ensuring a positive, supportive atmosphere for young people.

This is a Full-Time opportunity based in Hamilton.

We are looking for you to have:

  • A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families.
  • Relevant Diploma with substantial experience including four (4) additional mandatory competencies (top up units).
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, lead and support a team of residential care workers.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the residential care field, particularly within a therapeutic environment.
  • Proven ability to relate to and work with young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
  • Proven skills and experience in development of behavioural management programs for children and adolescents with challenging behaviours.

  • Valid and Current Driver's Licence
  • Valid and Current Workers With Children's Check
  • Valid and Current NDIS Workers Screeners Check
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check
  • Relevant Diploma with substantial experience including four (4) additional mandatory competencies (top up units).
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families.
