Help us deliver a better tomorrow
Australia Post is delivering for all Australians. From the vehicles that we drive, to the small businesses that make our communities thrive. We’re delivering for the environment, for our communities, for our customers and for our people. We’re moving forward and we want you to come along for the ride.
About the opportunity
Joining our Retail Data and Insights team, as Retail Data & Insights Analyst you will work with large, complex datasets across multiple sources, bringing clarity to the numbers and enabling better decision making. Just as importantly, you’ll translate complex findings and outcomes into simple, clear outputs that business stakeholders can understand and act on.
You’ll not just answer today’s ad-hoc questions - you’ll design solutions that are automated, documented and future-proof, building the foundations for self-serve insights across the business.
This is a unique opportunity to help shape the next generation of Retail insights at one of Australia’s most trusted organisations.
What you’ll deliver with us
Working collaboratively with our Retail, Finance, Marketing and Operations teams, you will:
- Analyse large, complex datasets to uncover meaningful insights that drive business decisions.
- Translate ad-hoc business questions into structured analysis, delivering not just data, but stories and recommendations.
- Design and build reporting assets and visualisations in Tableau, Looker and Power BI, ensuring clarity, simplicity and impact.
- Leverage Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and SQL to integrate, standardise and optimise datasets for reporting and analysis.
- Document and future-proof your work, ensuring scalability and enabling self-serve insights.
- Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, presenting insights and influencing decision making with confidence.
About you
You’re not just an analyst - you’re a problem solver and storyteller. You thrive in complex environments, can quickly understand business needs, and deliver insights that are clear, actionable and trusted.
You’ll also need
- 3-5 years’ experience in analytics, reporting or business intelligence roles.
- Proven experience working with large and complex datasets, with strong SQL skills.
- Collecting, integrating, standardising and optimising complex, large, and varied data sets for analysis
- Hands-on expertise in GCP, Tableau, Looker or Power BI (ideally across more than one).
- A track record of building reporting solutions that move beyond outputs to insights and recommendations.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to present to senior leaders.
- A mindset of documentation, automation and scalability, ensuring your work delivers long-term value.
