About the role
We have an exciting role to work in our internal General Counsel team. Reporting to the firm’s General Counsel, this role will have the following responsibilities:
- Working with Maddocks’ centralised platform (Intapp Walls) to implement and manage appropriate information barriers
- Liaising with Partners, lawyers and our IT team about implementing appropriate information barriers
- Participating in ongoing training with platform developers and IT, and providing valuable and insightful feedback on the processes
- Understanding the conflict rules as outlined in the Solicitors’ Conduct Rules
- Providing assistance to streamline internal information barrier processes
- Reviewing and actioning information barrier requests
- Reviewing and responding to questions from within the firm about information barriers
- Promoting awareness of the importance of information barriers with Partners and lawyers
- Assisting the General Counsel team with ad hoc risk and compliance related tasks, as required
- Providing general assistance in relation to the management of conflicts of interest
About you
You will have 1-2 years’ experience working in a similar paralegal/administrative role within a law firm or a professional services environment. You have an interest or knowledge in legal compliance and are looking to grow your career in this area. To be successful in this role, you will have excellent communication skills, the ability to prioritise tasks, competent in using IT software and have strong attention to detail.
