The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Safety Coordinator to provide a critical role within Corrections Victoria.

As part of the CJS group, the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre (DPFC) is a 694-bed maximum-security facility for female offenders located within the West Metropolitan Area.
About the Role
Some of your duties will include:
- Contributing to the delivery of operational initiatives by working collaboratively with the Safety and Assurance Manager and key partners.
- Coordinating day to day safety support and action directed at process, systems and services to support Corrections Victoria to deliver a safe and healthy workplace for staff and to meet its responsibilities under health and safety laws.
- Participating in local incident reviews and investigations to support learning and continuous improvement aligned to the Safer Prisons Strategy and `A Safer Place to Work' methodology.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Subject matter expert in occupational health and safety management systems with demonstrated business partnering experience to meet operational demand.
- Proven experience managing a diverse stakeholder group to deliver consistent and quality safety service.
- Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and experience in the application of OHS legislation, codes of practice and regulations.
Qualifications/requirements
- The relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated extensive experience in safety are desirable.
- A full and current driver's license is required due to the need to work across different locations.
