The Opportunity
Carey Baptist College Forrestdale, a private coeducational Christian school with open enrolment, is seeking a passionate and skilled Science & Humanities Teacher to join our dynamic team for Term 4, 2025. This role is ideally suited for a dedicated educator who thrives on building strong relationships with students in Years 7–10, delivering engaging and inquiry-based lessons, and inspiring curiosity about the world in both the sciences and the humanities.
Set within the beautiful natural bushland of our Forrestdale campus, our school offers a unique and supportive environment that fosters student growth, character development, and academic achievement.
As a Science & Humanities Teacher, you will deliver high-quality lessons across a range of topics, fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and a passion for learning. The successful candidate will be committed to supporting the pastoral care and wellbeing of students, while working collaboratively with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning programmes.
Experience teaching Beliefs & Values or similar programmes is highly desirable, as is the ability to integrate cross-curricular connections between Science and Humanities. Familiarity with programmes such as AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) and Visible Learning will also be an advantage in supporting student engagement and academic success.
Key responsibilities include:
•
Delivering engaging and inquiry-based Science and Humanities lessons for Years 7–10.
•
Encouraging critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving in students.
•
Supporting student wellbeing and contributing to a positive, inclusive school culture.
•
Collaborating with colleagues to develop and refine curriculum and learning programmes aligned with the College’s mission and strategic goals.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate educator who is eager to make a positive impact on both student learning and personal growth.
This position commences in Term 4, 2025, with the possibility of continuation into 2026.
