About the Role
ACESGroup is seeking an experienced Security Services Manager with a strong focus on managing a high-profile education sector portfolio. This is a key leadership position, overseeing security operations and service delivery across a range of education precincts, with additional oversight of selected technology, public space, and commercial sites.
As the Security Services Manager, you’ll take ownership of contract and relationship management within your designated education accounts, working closely with school and campus leadership teams to ensure safe, compliant, and responsive security services that support student, staff, and visitor wellbeing.
This role is ideal for someone who understands the nuances and sensitivities of working within an education environment and can tailor services to the unique needs of schools, TAFEs, and university campuses. You will also collaborate closely with our Head of Services and wider management team to ensure excellence in service delivery, compliance, and client satisfaction.
You’ll split your time between being on site across education facilities and working from our National Services Support Centre in Redfern – easily accessible by public transport.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary security lead across a portfolio of education sites, fostering strong relationships with client stakeholders including principals, campus managers, and operations staff.
- Manage day-to-day security operations including access control, incident response, event management, and compliance reporting across school and tertiary environments.
- Supervise and support a team of security personnel across multiple locations, ensuring consistent quality of service and adherence to education-sector standards and protocols.
- Deliver on contract KPIs and drive continuous improvement in service delivery, safety performance, and client engagement.
- Handle incident escalations and urgent requests in a calm, professional manner.
- Lead regular client meetings, audits, and reviews specific to the education environment, focusing on proactive service, risk mitigation, and safeguarding.
- Support rostering, compliance, and workforce planning with a specific understanding of term calendars and academic year cycles.
Essential Criteria:
- NSW Security License (1A and 2A, with 2A highly regarded).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in security leadership roles.
- Previous experience managing security within an education environment is highly regarded.
- Demonstrated success managing large, multi-site teams (20+ personnel).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with senior education stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience working in fast-paced, dynamic operational settings.
- Strong computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office and scheduling software.
- Proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
- Willingness to travel across sites and interstate as required.
- Full NSW Driver’s License.
- Current First Aid and RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certifications.
- Certificate IV in Security Risk Management (or willingness to obtain).
- Traffic Control and Implement Traffic Management Plan cards (or willingness to obtain).
- White Card (or willingness to obtain).
- Fire Warden (or willingness to obtain).
