We’re seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Consultant to join our Climate and Decarbonisation Advisory team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in delivering impactful outcomes for our clients and contributing directly to Australia's decarbonisation efforts. You’ll work alongside a talented team and leverage WSP’s national multidisciplinary expertise and global scale to deliver meaningful, sustainable change.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Decarbonisation Strategy: Develop and implement robust roadmaps, strategies, and action plans for a diverse client base including governments, corporations, and asset owners.
- Technical Expertise: Conduct emissions assessments (Scope 1, 2, 3), identify reduction opportunities, and advise on energy-efficient technologies, fleet decarbonisation, energy transition, and sustainable supply chains.
- Regulatory & Policy Guidance: Interpret and apply climate legislation, standards (e.g., PAS 2080), and net zero strategies to support client compliance and positioning.
- Client Engagement & Business Development: Build strong relationships, identify new opportunities, prepare proposals, and contribute to market action plans.
- Project Leadership & Delivery: Manage end-to-end advisory engagements, ensuring technical excellence, quality, and timely delivery.
- Team Development: Mentor junior consultants and foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
- Thought Leadership: Share expertise through industry panels, publications, and internal knowledge development.
- Quality & Safety Assurance: Ensure all work aligns with WSP’s safety and quality standards.
About You:
You have proven experience in climate advisory, sustainability, or decarbonisation consulting, and a strong understanding of climate policy, emissions reduction strategies, and energy transition.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, along with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver high-quality outcomes. A genuine passion for driving sustainable change and influencing Australia’s climate future is essential.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience in infrastructure advisory, decarbonisation strategy, sustainability or climate change consulting. While experience in an advisory consulting environment is preferred alternative pathways will be considered.
- Proven experience with Australian built infrastructure market; this may include economic infrastructure sectors such as transport (public transport, rail, ports/intermodal, aviation, road), energy, data centres and water; or social infrastructure including health, education and other facilities
- Demonstrated expertise in emissions reduction methodologies, carbon accounting or climate risk assessment would be highly regarded.
- Experience with renewable energy and storage will be highly regarded.
- Experience with fleet decarbonisation strategies and planning will be highly regarded.
- Understanding of the Australian energy market transition, climate policy landscape (e.g., strategies and goals towards ‘Net Zero’), and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Ability to work autonomously within guardrails, taking a client brief or statement of work and formulate a methodology and proposal drawing in other contributions as required, from within our team, elsewhere in WSP or from partner organisations.
- Experience developing business cases or funding submissions within public or private sector.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and technical report writing skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely
