Job Description
We now have a great opportunity at our Kalgoorlie Terminal for a Senior Operator to join our established team. Reporting to the Site Supervisor, this full-time role would suit someone that wants to stay active and has an interest in the petroleum industry.
Responsibilities
- Overall safety, operation and maintenance of Kalgoorlie Terminal.
- Receipt, safe handling and storage of fuel products.
- Operational tasks associated with maintenance and product quality including product transfers, product sampling and testing.
- Raising maintenance work notifications, work clearances, gas testing, permitting, and Lock out Tag out.
- Hot oil systems operations, Interceptor operations and storm water management
- Valve, transfer and gantry operations.
- Shipping, bunkering, and Rail/Tanker loading/unloading.
- Emergency response and incident control.
- Preparation and submission of daily stock sheets.
- Participation in HSSE assurance activities, audits, emergency response, work insights in the context of maintaining our safety management systems.
- Undertaking basic housekeeping duties in relation to operational areas, and work area/site.
- Ad hoc audits and interaction with drivers and their fleet vehicles for compliance and safe operations.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills with a positive and flexible attitude.
- Strong passion and commitment to HSSE (Health, Safety, Security & Environment) and confidence to speak up when something isn’t right.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- People focused, dependable, detail-oriented.
- Customer service skills.
- Innovative problem-solver who has ability to operate with minimal supervision.
- Ability to hold a forklift licence (training will be provided).
- Operational or manufacturing environment experience (ideally in the dangerous goods industry) is desirable.
