Senior Stormwater Engineer
This role will provide direction and leadership in the development of Integrated Water Servicing to meet customers and stakeholders’ expectations. The Western Sydney Development team is providing an integrated water approach, and this role is focussed on the successful deployment of Stormwater Schemes in the Aerotropolis. When constructed, the Schemes will provide the largest stormwater harvesting system in Australia and include recycled wastewater top up from Sydney Water’s Advanced Water Recycling Plant.
What you will be doing:
- Lead the assessment of stormwater aspects within relevant development applications and provide timely feedback to internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide technical expert advice to the Stormwater Lead regarding the progress of stormwater and waterway engineering and integration with recycled water distribution network.
- Lead in situations by providing frank and fearless technical advice and solutions that balance innovation, risks and exposure when achieving multiple values within a sustainable water servicing solution.
- Understand and demonstrate the importance of strategic relationships and position Sydney Water positively in identifying stormwater servicing solutions for developers and the local councils.
About you:
- Engineering Degree required.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in technical stormwater engineering, Water Sensitive Urban Design, fluvial modelling, riverine soft engineering or urban waterway restoration with relevant research and best practice experience.
- Ability to provide intelligent and innovative guidance regarding the current policy, regulation and standards for urban stormwater for greenfield development in Western Sydney.
- Experience with MUSIC, TUFLOW, 12D, QGIS.
- Demonstrated experience in the preparation of strategies, plans, submissions and reports relevant to waterways management, stormwater treatment and greenfield urban development.
