Bluestone Mines Tasmania Joint Venture Pty Ltd, is Australia’s largest Tin producer. Bluestone is a well-established, high yield tin producer with a strong resource base supporting a mine life in excess of 10 years. The Renison mine is located on Tasmania’s beautiful West Coast between the towns of Zeehan and Rosebery.
About the mine
It is an exciting time at Renison with a robust “Life of Mine Plan” and ongoing capital reinvestment program designed to deliver substantial health, safety, environmental, and efficiency improvements across the operation. Our mission is to be a sustainable, efficient, capable, disciplined and respected tin producer. We will continue on our improvement journey to challenge the way we work optimising our entire operation.
About the role
We are looking for a Service Crew operator with an understanding of safe work practices with UG mining experience to join the Bluestone team. The position will be reporting to the UG Shift supervisor/2IC and be responsible for the provision of quality and timely installation of mine services retic, dewatering pipes, hanging of ventilation duct and all other service crew activities required to ensure operational targets are met in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner.
This position is being offered on 7 days on 7 days off, rotating day & night shift roster.
Core responsibilities
- Accurately record work completed, hazards requiring attention and machinery condition
- Conduct effective high-quality workplace inspections
- Ensure the safe and efficient completion of all tasks as assigned by Supervisor; and assist with various duties as required
- Communicating effectively with cross shift regarding important factors of the job
- Ensuring good housekeeping standards are maintained at all times
- UG experience essential
- C Class Licence or higher RWC & Shotfirer permit or ability to obtain may be required for certain positions OR
- Position relevant tickets/qualifications are required (or ability to obtain)
About you
To be successful in this role you will have the ability to proactively enhance your skills and competency levels through further training as required for the role whilst maintaining safety as a priority and actively contributing to making the workplace safer.
You will have previous mining experience and hold a Valid Driver's Licence. Applicants are highly desirable who have their hand scaling ticket, working at heights and first aid certificate. You must be a flexible, adaptable team player who is motivated to learn and lead within the team.
