The Project Scope
Genus will deliver a major program of maintenance and upgrade works for Western Power, a Western Australian State Government-owned corporation responsible for building, maintaining and operating the Southwest Interconnecting System (SWIS) electricity network.

This program of works extends the Genus relationship with Western Power that has been in place for many years. Genus will provide distribution and transmission overhead maintenance services across Western Power’s network.
The Role
We are seeking a proactive SHEQ Advisor to promote and maintain a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace, while also ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and company quality standards. This role is pivotal in supporting operational teams on-site by advising, guiding, and auditing SHEQ practices and ensuring continuous improvement in SHEQ performance.
  • Responsible for the implementation and execution the Company and Group SHEQ strategy for improving SHEQ performance.
  • Display and promote SHEQ through active field-based leadership and engagement.
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on SHEQ performance against Genus' objectives and targets.
  • Provide daily support and guidance to meet SHEQ objectives and targets and improve SHEQ performance.
  • Ensure understanding and awareness of company SHEQ requirements through effective communication and engagement.
  • Collaborate and engage with team members to achieve SHEQ performance goals and drive continuous improvement.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Cert IV in Work Health and Safety (Essential)
  • Construction Safety Induction White Card (Essential)
  • 3+ years’ demonstrated experience in a SHEQ position.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislative and compliance requirements.
  • Workplace First Aid Certificate and valid CPR Certificate.
  • Valid Australian Driver’s License
  • ICAM investigation or equivalent
