Solution Consultant – Indirect Tax Australia
Are you a pro-active, commercial minded individual who is passionate about Indirect Tax but has an interest working in SaaS? Join us as a Solutions Consultant – Indirect Tax, helping Australian enterprises navigate complex GST, e-invoicing, and digital reporting with confidence.
In this client facing role you will utilize your Indirect Tax knowledge to partner with Sales to grow advocacy for the Indirect Tax product portfolio across the Australian market. You will help prospects and customers solve complex indirect tax challenges (VAT/GST, sales and use tax, excise, digital services tax) with our platform. You will also combine tax domain knowledge, technical aptitude, and consultative selling to design solutions, deliver compelling demos, and guide customers from discovery through successful adoption.

About the Role
In this opportunity as Solution Consultant – Indirect Tax , you will:
Engage in solution advocacy using best in class technology, providing solution and product expertise during the sales cycle.
Understand customer requirements and needs and find the best solution within Thomson Reuters’ capability to develop a suitable and strong proposal which can create difference from competitors.
Serve as the go-to indirect tax specialist—leading complex discussions, defining problems, and scoping scalable solutions that meet customer needs.
Respond quickly to new leads working with urgency to progress deals through the sales cycle
Develop and help to close new opportunities to meet and exceed recurring and outright Gross Sales quotas
Keep up to date with news and changes in policy, regulations and activities of major players in the industries to have sufficient domain knowledge to lead discussion with customers and present expertise in public
Assist in key retention situations, bringing domain expertise relevant to the customer – as agreed with the appropriate stakeholders
About You
You’re a fit for the role of Solution Consultant – Indirect Tax , if you have the following required qualifications:
6–8 years of total industry experience, with a background in indirect tax compliance gained at an accounting/law firm or within an Australian corporation.
Hands-on experience using or implementing Thomson Reuters tax solutions (e.g., ONESOURCE) or adjacent indirect tax software.
Exceptional client-facing and presentation skills (both verbal & written).
Strong commercial skills, including an understanding of the sales process (Experience managing the bid or proposal process, including responding to RFP/RFIs).
