About the Role
As a Space Planning Insight Analyst , you will be responsible for delivering data-driven insights that optimise retail space productivity, range and space planning, and store layout strategies. Your analysis will directly inform decisions that improve customer experience, operational efficiency, and commercial outcomes across the retail network.
This role involves evaluating space productivity, identifying and analysing range performance, and supporting strategic initiatives through spatial modelling, traffic flow analysis, and performance benchmarking. You’ll also play a key role in developing best practices for space analytics and supporting cross-functional planning projects.
What’s Involved
- Work collaboratively with the broader space planning, merchandising and operations teams to deliver space performance insights across physical retail environments.
- Carrying out analysis to identify opportunities and drive business growth including, analysis of space productivity across ranges and layouts to identify opportunities for optimisation
- Support key initiatives and concepts with data-led insights and performance evaluation
- Translate analysis into meaningful insights supporting business stakeholders to make informed optimisation decisions
- Maintain, manipulate, update and extract insights from data sets to ensure they are used and create value
- Develop data visualisation through dashboarding, reporting and presentations, delivering compelling representations of data that tell a story
- Support the Space Planning team by enhancing space data and analysis literacy
- Partner with the Data & Analytics team to connect spatial, sales, and customer data sources to support space planning decisions.
Who We’re Looking For

You’re a strategic thinker with a passion for retail space optimisation. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing independent analysis with collaborative stakeholder engagement.
You’re comfortable navigating ambiguity and translating complex data into clear, compelling narratives.
You will be an SME in retail space productivity, spatial analysis, retail performance metrics, and planning insights, and you’re energised by the opportunity to influence how retail spaces perform and evolve through insightful analysis.
You’ll Need
- Proven experience in retail analytics, space productivity, or planning insights.
- Strong background in spatial modelling, performance reporting, and layout optimisation.
- Proficiency in data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and analytical platforms (e.g., SQL, Python, Excel).
- Technical skills in relevant analysis, measurement, visualisation and reporting tools
- Excellent problem-solving and conceptual thinking skills.
- Ability to think laterally and propose innovative solutions.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across all levels.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight timelines.
